STITCH DYE PAINT PAPER

Safe in my skin: 2 meters square

Stitched cotton with oil.

This piece is 2m square which refers to our ‘safe’ distance from each other, and also to the fact that on average the body of a human female is covered by an area of skin which is two square metres.

The surface, like (some) skin, is wrinkled and weathered, stained and used!

Selected for the RWA Open Exhibition 2021

Torso

Handmade paper with dye acrylic handcast stitch.

A collage of pieces investigating inside and outside the human body.

200 x 70 cm approx.

Threshold

Stitched and collaged fabric- made during lockdown during that time of wandering the streets, looking at closed and boarded-up buildings.

115 x 68 cm
